Islam Hadhari: Mudahnya Mufti Perlis Ditipu

Saya membaca kenyataan Mufti Perlis, Dato. Asri Zainal Abidin di Malaysiakini bertajuk: “Islam hadhari: Mufti ulas Dr Hassan”. Beliau berkata:

Tahukah Ustaz Azri bahawa Islam Hadhari menjadi pujian pemimpin2 Barat termasuk bekas Perdana Menteri Australia, John Keating.

Apa gunanya Islam Hadhari?

You Take Off Your Blouse First, Haris

I read the Haris Ibrahim article entitled "Take That Blouse Off! It's Making Me Hot" with a very sad heart. I never knew that an honest effort made by Munirah Bahari is being refuted so violently simple because Munirah’s suggestion contradicts Haris Ibrahim’s secular liberal ideology.
Haris too fail to suggest anything practical to our real problem of teenage sex, rape, incest and murder. Instead, Haris chose to advance his ideological ranting, of which Munirah’s suggestion is completely contradictory to.
For one, it’s expected that Haris Ibrahim, as a man, would disagree with Munirah. Seeing that Munirah is a woman, all of us should agree that she has more credibility to talk about women’s safety then Haris.
After all, when was the last time we see all-covered women being used by corporations to advertised their products? There must be a reason that women wearing revealing clothes are the more preferred choice to advertisers as compared to “burqa” wearing women? Only an obtuse and highly naïve individual would disagree that “exposed” women attracts attention at the same level as the non-exposed ones.
As for Munirah Ibrahim’s suggestion, I think it has merits and I would want my sisters, cousins, daughters etc not to wear clothes that is transparent and can be seen through. At least, Munirah is doing something in curbing teenage sex that is ever rising even as we speak.
Munirah also does not imply or say that this is the only solution available. She is merely suggesting one solution to the current problems of youths.
Next, Harris Ibrahim re-lived the tragic incidence of the rape and murder of Suzaili Ibrahim. He quoted a Malaysiakini report from 2000 and quoted Sisters In Islam as saying that Suzaili rape and murder "Noor Suzaily's rape also belie the claim made by some political leaders that women are raped and molested because of the way they dress”.
Funny, Haris fail to quote other rape and/or murder cases involving “non-tudung” wearing victims, i.e. Norita Samsuddin, Canny Ong (whom were non tudung wearing victims albeit their cases being highly publicized)etc. Why didn’t he quote other cases of rape where the victims does not wear tudung?
My deepest sympathy to Canny Ong and his family

Apparently, Sisters In Islam and Haris are probably unaware of the concept of anomaly in statistics. By just providing one sample is not a strong enough to draw a encompassing conclusion.
The truth of the matter is the Suzaili may have been an anomaly. That is an exception to the rule, a deviation from the common rule. And quoting the Suzaili case alone is insufficient from a statistical standpoint to prove his conclusion that clothes is not a factor.
This is the mistake committed by Haris, Sisters in Islam and even by AWAM’s “The Rape Report:An Overview of Rape in Malaysia”. Instead of providing unblemished data, they only quote one or two cases and then they drew their conclusion. This is very misleading and might result in the masses making the wrong conclusion, thus, exposing themselves to harm and danger.
Harris also asks:
“Do most reported cases of incest involve Malay-Muslims?
Do most reported cases of grandfathers, fathers and brothers raping grand-daughters, daughters or sisters involve Malay-Muslim males?
If so, why is that there are not many reports of girls who grow up in villages playing hopscotch in shorts and singlets being raped by their grandfathers, fathers, or brothers”
I believe Haris’es questions is inspired by the AWAM’s report too.
My reply is that factors behind incests and family-rapes in Malaysia hasn’t been identified yet. There has been no detail study yet. But, my own observation is that it has a lot to do with our sex-friendly media where women with exposed bodies are a preferred feature in the programming. In addition, pornography is also widespread in Malaysia and access to pornography is also easy. For instance, our internet provider does not censor pornography sites and as a result, even children can access pornography sites in Malaysia, let alone adults.
With stimulants readily widespread, it’s no surprise that innocent children falls victims. Children, women who cover themselves, grandaugthers, sisters etc can then be categorized as victims of situations. Their rapists are stimulated by widespread stimulants available and they become victims because:
a. They are weak
b. They can easily be subdued.
c. They re convenient outlets for the rapists.
Suzaili Hamzah may have become a victim of a man whom was stimulated by other women who are scantily clad attired. This means that women who wears sexy attires not only endanger themselves. They also endanger other women and children.
The scantily clad women will stimulate males and the rapists among these males will find easy outlets i.e. their grandaugthers, daughters, sisters etc. In short, scantily clad women are also responsible for all the rape cases, as well.
A case reported at malaysiabeauty.com/index.php/2006/03/09/malaysia-brothers-rape-sister/ of two brothers raping their sisters after watching pornographic movies. I don’t know how credible this report is but apparently the blog host is willing to be responsible for his postings. But to me the story is not too far from the truth.
In conclusion, Munirah’s effort has to be lauded. At least someone is trying to do something to solve real problems in the society. People like Haris Ibrahim should avoid from being part of the problem, if he does not want to be part of the solution. The time to moan and groan is over. Teenage sex, incest, rape is a real problem in our society. We need solutions not ideological rants like what Haris is doing in his article.
As a final note, the message below is what u get is any of you wishes to access pornography sites from Saudi Arabia. We should implement something like this in Malaysia too.

Ezam Dapat 2 Juta Dari Pak Lah Untuk Masuk UMNO

Lanjutan dari artikel2 saya berkenaan Ezam Mat Nor, Saya terbaca artikel baru dari Raja Petra Kamaruddin bertajuk "Team A, Team B: Umno’s ten-year itch". Artikel Raja Petra telah mengesahkan kandungan artikel saya bertajuk Ezam Hanya Akan Jadi Balachi Khairy Jamaluddin Dalam UMNO Raja Petra juga berkata bahawa Ezam telah:

a. Diberi RM2 juta untuk masuk ke dalam UMNO
b. Akan dilantik sebagai Pengarah Badan Pencegah Rasuah yang baru.

It’s Stupid for PAS to Join BN/UMNO

I read the Malaysiakini report entitled “PAS-Umno talks - cause for concern?” with great interest. And the fact that the article is published the same day that Ezam Mat Nor declared his return to UMNO is also a very interesting.

As a PAS member and activist, I will say this outright: It is stupid for PAS to join up with Barisan Nasional or UMNO. I mean after getting bitten once, the right thing for PAS to do is to learn from their previous experience. The last time PAS cooperated with UMNO, they were stabbed in the back and the knife is still stuck to this day.

Dato Asri called for a “Muktamar Khas” before the decision to join Barisan Nasional was made. My late father was one of the delegates and he resisted the idea. Of course, he could not overcome the popularity of Dato Asri and the rest is history. But, what I’s like to highlight is the fact that my late father was right all along. He believes that UMNO cannot be trusted and therefore, joining BArisan Nasional is a big mistake and sooner than later PAS will be betrayed. He was proven right.

True enough, after UMNO regrouped and regained their strength, the first on their agenda was the removal of PAS from Barisan Nasional. PAS, at that point was expandable as compared to before the formation of Barisan Nasional. They used the flimsy excuse of an UMNO branch in Johor converting into a PAS branch. With that, they were able to unite the UMNO leaders in their plan to eject PAS from Barisan Nasional.

Everything else that occurred afterwards right to the point of PAS leaving Barisan Nasional was part of UMNO plan in effect. And PAS leaders, being gullible, swallowed UMNO’s bait hook, line and sinker. UMNO deployed the assistance of every single government apparatus including the Kelantan Palace which led to the Mageran incident in 1978 and subsequently the relegation of PAS to the status of pariah party among Malays.

When PAS was kicked out, the DEB was at the start of it’s implementation. The Malays had begun to experience something that they’ve never experienced before and therefore, making UMNO insanely popular. PAS was without any issues to fight UMNO and Barisan Nasional. Even worse, PAS is no more seen as a saviour to the Malays.

PAS was lucky that UMNO/BN still allowed them to have their Annual “Muktamar” at Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka after that. Starting from 1982 elections right about 1999, losing deposits is states like Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Melaka etc is a normal occurance. In short, UMNO didn’t just managed to kick PAS out of BN, they managed to kill PAS’es relevance among the Malay. Kindda like getting two for the price of one.

THAT WASN’T THE LAST TIME PAS GOT SCREWED BY UMNO

Shortly before 1986 elections, non-malay electorate begun to take interest in PAS. PAS leaders suddenly found themselves invited to dialogues with Chinese communities across Malaysia. Dialouges were organized with PAS leaders deep in Chinese new villages, Chinese halls etc.

At the same time, the Malays were beginning to be interested in PAS again. This is about the time when the Islamic resurgence was strong among the Malays. And at that time, Malaysia suffered from one of it’s worst recession on record. Naturally, UMNO is concerned if the Chinese and Malays turned, it will be like 2008 elections.

So, with the help of Anwar Ibrahim, a “tea party” was organized between the main PAS leaders, and the PM, that’s right, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohammad Iskndar Kutty at Seri Perdana. I can’t remember exactly what is the main agenda of the tea party, but it had something to do Malay Unity and the advancement of Islam and all that crap.

What was weird is that during the span of the meeting, Dr. Mahathir was loss for words. He spoke very little and the one that spoke the most is Anwar Ibrahim and the PAS leaders. The next day, word was spread that PAS was willing t work with UMNO in the name of advancing Islam and Malays.

The Chinese felt betrayed and suddenly, invitations for dialogues dried up big time. In truth, the entire tea-meeting did not reach any resolution. It was a mere chit chat and small talk and nothing concrete was ever reached.

The other example is the so call unity talk on Palestine involving the late President and Dr. Mahathir Mohd. I do not want to elaborate but suffice to say PAS was the biggest loser of the meeting. The talk was organized by ABIM and apparently the call for Malay Unity this time around is also being made by ABIM.

STOP BELIEVING IN ALL THIS MALAY UNITY CRAP, PLEASE

To think that PAS leaders have been “screwed” so many times by UMNO with the same pickup line: Malay Unity and Islam Advancement, is very weird. Everytime UMNO is in a bind, the same bait is used and PAS always seems to fall for that trap, until now.

One will start questioning why? I have a few theories. My biggest theory is that PAS has always been “infiltrated”. It seems that UMNO didn’t leave PAS all to itself after they got rid of PAS in 1978. UMNO left behind “moles” or “sleeper agents” that will be activated whenever there is a need for UMNO to do so.

The “sleeper agents” will push for Malay and Islamic unity whenever UMNO is in a bind or UMNO is in trouble, such as now. I believe this is the main factor. I also call upon ABIM to stop calling for crap political agenda such as the Malay Unity thing. The Malays are UNITED under the Sultan. We are always united because we all share the same Sultan. So, the agenda is irrelevant.

ABIM should stop wasting the people’s time with crappy agendas. Having said that, I support Munirah Bahari’s call to review the school uniform. I think that’s a better agenda for ABIM to pursue.

WHY IS IT STUPID?

PAS needs to understand who UMNO really is. UMNO is a bunch of “rent-seekers” with access to the wealth of the country. They lead a lavish life, with big fat bank accounts, expensive automobiles, big house or houses and all of the riches. They, however, possesses such wealth without the need of hard work. Such a thing is like living a dream.

Their position in the government are their meal-tickets. They make their wealth without having to break sweats. All they need to do is to get cuts of the top of government projects which they decide who will get, anyways.

Now, who would not want this kind of life? You do not have to wake up early every morning, brave the traffic jams, work from nine to five, yet you have money more than you can ever spend.

This is the classic definition of rent-seekers. This is what UMNO is filled with. And these rent-seekers, they will sell their families first before they give up their way if life, metaphorically speaking.

And does one really think that these rent-seekers actually care about the Malays, about Islam, about Ketuanan Melayu? All they care about is their lavish life and their bank accounts. As far as they’re concerned, Ketuanan Melayu is merely a good excuse for making themselves rich.

I’ve read about these people since 1986. These people are properly termed as “UMNOPUTRA”. They are the real beneficiary of Dasar Ekonomi Baru, Ketuanan Melayu Kedaulatan Islam etc. They get the prime cut of the beef while the rest of the Malays have to make do with scraps from their tables.

The Malays tolerate these criminals, because Malays are a very feudal society. And as a result, the UMNOPUTRA’s live like fat-rats. And no one can touch them.

That is, until 2008 when their “meal-ticket” party, UMNO was defeated in so many states and their 2/3 majority are now gone. The overwhelming control of the country is no more absolute with UMNO as before. And to make matters worse, there is chance that UMNO might fall and become a full-time opposition party.

Now, the UMNOUTRA’s are sweating profusely. If the BN government is toppled, the UMNOPUTRA might end up in “soup-lines” depending on the real meal-tickets for sustenance.

They know they need to do something. Otherwise, their way of life will be seriously altered. They don’t know how to earn a decent living or the value of a buck. They have always got it easy and having to endure hardship to survive is a nightmare.

So, what’s the next step? They must get PAS to rejoin BN and strengthen the credibility of UMNO again. That way, UMNO will be relevant again and their control of power and resources will be absolute once again.

PAS, NOW, IS MORE RELEVANT THAN UMNO

For the first time in PAS’es history, the Non-Muslims are giving PAS a chance. All PAS needs to do is to prove to them that they’re a better government then UMNO. I strongly feel that non muslims in Malaysia will have no problem with PAS’es Islamic policy especially when PAS doesn’t need to touch on sensitive issues just to established their Islamic credentials.

UMNO had to snatch bodies from grieving families just to prove to Malays that they’re Islamic. PAS doesn’t need to resort to such theatricals. PAS practices Islam in the daily life. Islam to UMNO is merely a “meal ticket” to get Malays to support them in the elections.

Therefore, if PAS is true to their Islamic cause, they WILL reject the UMNO’s call. They will reject ABIM’s call for a Malay unity government. They will stick to their promise and commitment and prove to non muslims in this country that they are a as good as UMNO.

And they can also prove that further Islamization of this country will not effect the basic freedom of Non Muslims in Malaysia. They have proven that in Kelantan and they have no problem to prove that to the entire Malaysia. In fact, the critics of PAS’es Islamic policies are lackeys of UMNO anyways, i.e. Wong ChunWai, Zainah Anwar and Chandra Muzzaffar.

PAS do not need UMNO anymore. The myth of “ONE PARTY FOR ONE RACE” must be blown apart. Having multi-party is good for a race, a country, a people etc. It would mean competition and the best will prevail.

All advance races in the world practices multi-party politics where more than one party represents the interest of one race or one country or one nation. In fact, one party will only lead to more corruption, less competition and slower progress of the party.

In fact, I am informed that the main force rejecting the UMNO-PAS cooperation is the PAS President, Tuang Guru Haji Abdul Hadi Awang. Thus, stopping all tides towards an UMNO-PAS cooperation.

Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Hadi is always known to be a man of his words. His argument is simple. Muslims must honor their promises And since we have promised our voters and friends, we must honor it.

Ezam Hanya Akan Jadi Balachi Khairy Jamaluddin Dalam UMNO

a. Amalan nepotisma Pak Lah.
b. Segala keputusan dan tindak-tanduk budak2 tingkat empat. Selama ni mereka bemaharaja-lela menentukan arah tuju negara. Sekarang Ezam terpaksa mempertahankan mereka.
c. Sikap anti Islam Nori Abdullah dan Zainah Anwar. Kita lihat Pak LAh sanggup menangguhkan Akta Shariah Wilayah Persekutuan hanya kerana Nori dan si munafik Zainah Anwar tidak bersetuju. Ezam selepas ini terpaksa menyokong penghapusan mahkamah syariah dan penguatkuasaaan Agama Islam seluruh Malaysia

Ezam Percaya Kepada Refomasi Pak Lah?

NEWSFLASH: Ezam Declared To Public He Is A Traitor

Ezam masuk UMNO tanpa syarat (Utusan Malaysia)

KUALA LUMPUR 28 Mei - Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi berkata, kemasukan semula bekas Ketua Angkatan Muda Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Mohamad Ezam Mohd.

Ezam Mat Nor: Hentikan Sandiwara mu Itu

Adakah saudara Ezam lupa bahawa beliau dahulunya hanya bertaraf Timbalan Ketua Bahagian UMNO PJ Selatan sahaja?

Kasihan saya tengok Lokman Nor Adam.

Pulau Batu Putih: Rewarding Singapore Thru Legal Channels?(Updated)

I read Karpal Singh’s statement on Malaysiakini and I could not help but to agree with him. I am sure that the BN government could tell that the strength of the case long before the case was brought to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

I am very sure that the Malaysian legal team would’ve seen the letter mentioned by Dr Rais Yatim:

“Rais said the ICJ also considered a letter writen by the Johor acting state secretary on Sept 21, 1953 which stated that “Johore government (did) not claim ownership” of the island.

The letter was in response to an enquiry by Singapore Colonial Secretary seeking to clarify the status of Pulau Batu Puteh where a lighthouse had been built, with a view to determining the “boundaries of the Colony’s territorial waters”.:

Rule of thumb will tell u that anything in black and white is always legal and binding. It doesn’t take a lawyer to understand that.

As such, my feeling is that the Malaysian government should not have brought the case to the ICJ and opted for a 3rd option. For instance, the Malaysian govt could award Singapore a 99 years lease without ceasing possession of the Island or we could share the Island or split the Island.

What I agree with Karpal Singh is that who is the genius who called for ICJ solution when it’s in black and white that we’ve ceased possession of the Island in black and white? We should’ve opted for other more equitable options.

I hope Karpal Singh will not be labeled as unpatriotic or indicted for treason for questioning the Malaysian govt on this loss. I think the fact that Karpal questioning BN’s incompetence is an act of patriotism. No one can question Karpal’s spirit of patriotism now.

In fact, I think it’s strange that a party (DAP) which stems from the PAP is voicing their unhappiness to the loss of territory to the Singaporeans.

UMNO and BN has had a long history of losing Malaysian land without a fight. The biggest example is the loss of Singapore. Now, it seems losing to Singapore is part of UMNO’s DNA.

Or an alternative explanation is that the 4th floor boys, trying to appease their Singapore close friends by opting this course of action? They knew that the case is a weak one and by pushing for ICJ resolution, they know that the island will be ceased in a manner that they cannot be blamed for?

In return, they get rewards from the Singapore in the form that will never be told to the public? Could this be a possible explanation?

I mean for Oxford and Cambridge graduates like the ones in 4th floor Putrajaya, they can sure tell whether the case is either a shoe-in or a goner. Why then did they allow for such resolution that will definitely benefit the Singaporeans?

I don’t know, the entire story doesn’t add up. It’s so easy for us to let go our territory and to say that our government is too incompetent to know the strength of the case, that’s just too far fetched if u ask me. I think definitely something stinks here.

Abdul Rahman Abdul Talib
www.malaysiawaves.com

(Taken from Malaysiakini: "
Karpal: Was gov't ill-advised? May 24, 08 4:35pm")

Veteran opposition legislator Karpal Singh believes that Malaysia had been dealt a severe blow by losing its claim over Pulau Batu Puteh and wonders if it was due to ill legal advice.
MCPX

Karpal said in any legal pronouncement, one must be prepared to lose, but added that the Malaysian government should not have agreed to bring the dispute to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) unless it was confident of a win.

“I wonder whether the Malaysian government took the proper legal advice before subjecting itself to a possible decision of momentous proportions for the country, both politically and psychologically,” he said in a statement today.

The DAP chairperson was commenting on the 12 to 4 verdict handed down by the ICJ yesterday over Malaysia and Singapore’s claim of sovereignty on the rocky uninhabitable island of Pulau Batu Puteh south of Johor.

In the same hearing, the ICJ also decided that Malaysia has sovereign right over that another maritime feature known as Middle Rocks which is 1.1km south of Pulau Batu Puteh.

Not ‘win-win’ situation

Describing the loss of Pulau Batu Puteh as “disappointing”, Karpal expressed his disagreement with Foreign Minister Dr Rais Yatim who said that the ICJ’s verdict was a ‘win-win’ decision.

“Contrary to what Rais said that the decision of the ICJ is a win-win situation, no doubt, it is Singapore which obtained more than an edge over Malaysia’s claim over Pulau Batu Puteh.

“The right to Pulau Batu Puteh was the principal dispute before the ICJ, and not the insignificant and minute Middle Rocks,” he said.

Karpal, who is also Bukit Gelugor MP, said Malaysia should accept that it has lost out to Singapore both in “dignity and kind”.

The veteran lawyer also warned that the ICJ decision may well lead to other future disputes of a maritime nature between Malaysia and Singapore.

For now, it is uncertain how the two country’s maritime borders would be affected.

Our arguments not weak

In another development, Rais defended Malaysia’s arguments presented before the ICJ and claimed that the loss in the case was not due to weaknesses in arguments.

"The fact that we have lost Pulau Batu Puteh is not due to the weakness of our arguments but to the lack of exercise by the authorities (on that island) for some 100 years," he told Malaysian journalists at the Malaysian embassy in The Hague, Holland.

He noted that the ICJ’s decision to award sovereignty of Pulau Batu Puteh to Singapore was based on the fact that from 1850 to 1953, Malaysia did not effect any action or grounds which could be accepted as proof os sovereignty.

This acts of sovereignity could be in terms of occupation, conducting checks or supervision activities on the disputed island, explained Rais.

Rais said the ICJ also considered a letter writen by the Johor acting state secretary on Sept 21, 1953 which stated that “Johore government (did) not claim ownership” of the island.

The letter was in response to an enquiry by Singapore Colonial Secretary seeking to clarify the status of Pulau Batu Puteh where a lighthouse had been built, with a view to determining the “boundaries of the Colony’s territorial waters”.

Ezam Turns Out To Be A Sell-Out, After All

I read the Malaysiakini report entitled "Ezam to make a timely move back to Umno". I must say it stopped my heart from beating for about a second. I am absolutely shocked But of all people, I should not be surprised as i've gotten signs of Ezam's intention long before this had happened. For one, i ran into one of Ezam's men, Zahid Mat Arip and I had a long conversation with him. From his Freudian slips, I can easily gather that plans and intention of Ezam Mat Nor was there long before. In fact, he was actually waiting for UMNO to offer him a seat in the last election but the offer never came through. If the offer was solid, Ezam would've jump to UMNO a long time ago.

As for his so call fallout with Anwar and Azmin and his so call power struggle, i suspect that the power struggle is nothing more than Ezam trying to destabilize the PKR.

I suspect Ezam has been playing for the other side a long time ago. He was trying to show his worth to UMNO by giving Anwar and the PKR a hard time. I strongly feel that Ezam didn't want to contest for PAS or DAP in the last election because he's never interested to remain with the Opposition. He was really interested in joining UMNO and contesting for UMNO. But, from the information I managed to gather, Ezam never got the final green light from UMNO leadership so he could not contest.

If Ezam is really true to his principle, he could join the other opposition parties like PAS or DAP. We have Sdr Anuar Tahir, for instance, a former SU Agung PKR, having a fallout with the party but instead joined PAS.

Or he could just retire from politics like the various PKR leaders whom have dissapeared from public life i.e. Zainur Zakaria etc. We also have people like Dr Chandra Muzaafar who doesn't explicitly supports UMNO but do so by forming an NGO. At least, no one can accuse Chandra of swallowing his own words.

But, Ezam's move is hypocrisy of the highest order. He has said and call for so much reforms for UMNO or the Government. Yet, none of his call for reforms have been implemented by the Pak Lah regime.

In fact, whatever corruption or abuse done by Dr.Mahathir has ben compounded and exploited by the people surrounding Pak Lah. Therefore, what is Ezam's justification for joining UMNO?

Does he think that he is big enough to reform UMNO? Does he think he can make a big difference in UMNO that UMNO will fall to his feet and change accordingly. Does he seriously think that he can rid of all the UMNO rent-seekers that currently plauging UMNO?

Will Ezam be able to influence PAk LAh to overturn all of the Draconian laws currently being enjoyed by the Pak Lah regime?

It is my opinion, that Ezam joining UMNO is only for his own personal interest. He has a personal agenda that he wants to implement and that he wants only to achieve his own personal glory.

I pity all of Ezam supporters whom had followed him to join GERAK. People like SD Johari, Zukri Akasyah etc. They really believed in Ezam and they were willing to ggo high and low with Ezam. Now, it seems that all their sacrifice is wasted. They have been banking with the wrong man. Their sacrifice is for nothing.

There are also Ezam men, like Hanafiah Man, Zahid Mat Arif, Hamdan Taha and many more whom have joined UMNO long before. I suspect these people were sent into UMNO by Ezam to facilitate Ezam's entry into UMNO.

Many people are unaware that when Ezam was the Youth Head of PKR, he was a dictator. Many a times he makes big decisions without referring to the Youth committee. People like Mustafa Kamil Ayub and Samsul Iskandar Mat Akin can testify to Ezam's style of leadership. In fact, I think Azmin Ali is more democratic than Ezam Mat Nor.

I, therefore, suspect that when Anwar Ibrahim refuse to follow his wishes, Ezam becomes agitated and responded by leaving the party. Not only that, he then tried to weaken and destabilize PKR so as to raise his value in the eyes of UMNO.

In fact, i think PKR is lucky to have themselves rid off Ezam Mat Nor completely. He is nothing but a cancerous cell in the entire PKR body. I think PKR should rejoice his departure to UMNO. Let all the bad elements join UMNO.

It's actually not a surprise that some former ISA detainees will then serve as agents and moles to UMNO/BN. It has happened before.

It is also strange that Ezam is chooses such a time to join UMNO. A time when the party is split and in complete strive. My internal UMNO information tells me that Ezam entry is meant to shore up the Pak Lah regime. He's been called up by the Pak lah team to project an image of strength and intelligence. My informants also told me that the reward waiting for Ezam is handsome. He might be made a Senator and at least a Deputy Minister. If he plays his cards right, he'll can also make a full fledge Minister.

His domain will be the entire Selangor. In other words, he will be put in the position of recapturing Selangor from PKR. He will take Khir Toyo's place for good.

Inshaalah, history will show that Ezam is nothing more than a black spot. MAlaysia in the future will look back and look on to Ezam Mat Nor as nothing more then a sell-out. I pray that my children does not follow Ezam's unprincipled ways.

Ezam to make a timely move back to Umno (
www.malaysiakini.com/news/83248)
Stanley Koh May 22, 08 11:04am
Former PKR Youth chief Ezam Mohd Nor's crossover to Umno is said to be imminent and expected to take place over the next few days to a week.
MCPX

"Ezam joining Umno is not something unexpected as Ezam has been courted as a candidate even before the March 8 general election," said a reliable source from Umno.

gerak meet aca 211107 ezam and abdul gani haronIt is learnt that the change of Ezam's political fortunes from his crossover from PKR to Umno has been given top approval from both Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy, Najib Abdul Razak.

According to the Umno source, the reason in bringing in Ezam to the Umno's fold was both strategic and timely.

"Ezam has declined to be an Umno candidate in the previous general election on grounds of integrity. But the time is now appropriate as Ezam will be given a meaningful role in the party," the source said.

Umno's move to embrace Ezam will help mitigate the current negative developments in the party.

On the other hand, Ezam also expects his new party to continue to exert efforts in reforming the judiciary and the fight against corruption which form part of his negotiation with the top Umno leadership before accepting the move to join the party.

The source also indicated that Ezam was expected to be given a senatorship and his future role will include the daunting responsibility to win back Selangor from the Pakatan government in the next general election.

"Ezam's future role besides stemming the tide of PKR in Selangor will also provide him a potential to be a candidate for the Umno Youth chief in the coming party elections."

A breath of fresh air

Given the lack of potential candidates with credibility and integrity in the Umno Youth line-up, the entry of Ezam will provide a breath of fresh air to the movement, particularly when he is being the given challenging task to wrest back Selangor.

"Ezam joining Umno could well be a turning point for the party in Selangor given current perceptions that the Pakatan government under the Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has proven to be quite disappointing," according to a political observer.

"Besides a few public announcements on land issues and the pig-farming project, nothing seems to be moving."

Ezam, a former political secretary to PKR's de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, was also PKR's Youth chief and had served a two-year jail sentence over the Anwar's issue.

He had massive fallout with Anwar and PKR vice-president Azmin Ali last year following an internal power struggle, which resulted in him in quitting the party.

Since then he had been critical of Anwar's style of leadership and Azmin's role as a dominant schemer in the party.

After that he concentrated on his anti-corruption NGO, Gerak. He will be relinquishing his position in the NGO from June, to be replaced by Mohd Nazree Yunus.

When contacted Ezam said that he would be issuing a statement on the matter next Tuesday..

Wong Chun Wai Is Part of the Problem, Not The Solution

I pity Wong Chun Wai for his simplistic and unrealistic comment( Give them a dressing down) of Munirah Bahari’s recent statement(Islamic group condemns 'sexy' school uniforms) as reported on Malaysiakini. Wong Chun Wai seems to be insensitive to the real problems currently being faced on the ground.

At a time when the problem of teenage sex, teen age pregnancy, rape, molestation saw no signs of subsiding in fact wosening, we should be thankful to Munirah Bahari in making suggestions towards eradicating these problems.

Wong Chun Wai, instead of providing solutions to worsening problems, choose to make fun of Munirah Bahari. In return, what has Wong Chun Wai offered, thus far, towards solving the problem of teenage sex in this country? The question is zilch, nada, nothing, none whatsoever.

Wong Chun Wai only knows how to ridicule people with good intentions towards solving impending problems without offering any alternative solution whatsoever. It’s almost as if Wong Chun Wai is an agent of immorality and decadent and the likes of Munirah contradicts his ideology. It is almost as if Wong Chun Wai doesn’t think that teenage sex is a problem at all.

As for the merit of the suggestion from Munirah, although it was not supported by empirical data, but it has it’s base in logic and common sense. For example, whenever women are featured in an advertisement, they almost always are exposed? When was the last time you see all-covered women featured in an advertisement? The answer is rarely. In Malaysia, advertisers use covered women so that they are able to advertise in Kelantan. For example, check out the link here to a Celcom commercial featuring Maya Karin here. Tell me why Maya Karin is not covered up?

The truth is, women who are exposed attracts attention. From there onwards, it will lead to more negative activities that we may not have control over. Munirah’s suggestion is to stop the rot from its sources, and one of them is exposed dressings.

And the reason for the school uniform be exposed is not because it’s white, but because it’s transparent. Therefore, Munirah’s suggestion makes sense is that she proposed the school uniform’s color be changed. And I am very sure that Munirah’s proposal only applies to Muslims.

Wong Chun Wai is also concerned about how the International media perceives Malaysia because of Munirah’s statement. Maybe Wong Chun Wai needs to wake up to a fact that International media has so much contempt against Islam and Shariah. For instance, they painted the Taleban of Afghanistan as being a very bad example of Islamism. Yet, all of Taleban’s policies comes from Saudi Arabia. Yet, u do not hear a single word from the International media against Saudi Arabia because Major Multinationals are investing in Saudi Arabia by the billions.

For a closer look at life in the “Taleban Country”, please click here: pt 1 and here: pt 2 for a real life pictorial essay on how life is in the real Taleban country. You will be pleasantly surprise. I can assure you that much.

Wong Chun Wai is also caught for lying about Islam, as the statement below proves:

“But what is disturbing is the trend to embrace the Arab culture in the name of religion and those who seek answers are immediately shut off for being insensitive to the religion of others.”

Statements like this reflects the apex of ignorance in Islamic Shariah. Can Wong Chun Wai prove to all of us that the current attire worn by Muslim women are based on Arab culture? Where is the evidence that the “Hijab” is based on the Arab Culture?

If this is so, then let me ask Wong Chun Wai, why did God made wearing “Hijab” as compulsory in the Quran and Sunnah? If the default Arab culture is to wear clothes covering their hair, necks and bodies, why then is there a need for verses of the Quran and Al Hadeeth making covering of “aurah” as compulsory.

Wong Chun Wai should stop lying in the name of Islam. It is a fact that the Arabs pre-Islam does not wear the “hijab”. They started to cover-up only after the coming of Islam into their life. Since they have been Muslims for 1400 years, Islam has become their culture and thus their standard attires are that of Islam.

To say that we are emulating the Arabs is not only errornous but also slanderous. And it’s clear, Wong Chun Wai have no clue as to what he’s talking about. I am very sure that Wong Chun Wai has never lived his live, even for one day, among the Arabs.

In conclusion, my advice to Wong Chun Wai, is that if he refuse to be part of the solution, then he better not be part of the problem. This is because at the end of the day, it’s not him that will have to bear the burden and trouble related to problem of teenage sex, teenage pregnancy etc. It will be the respective parents of each students. And Wong Chun Wai should refrain from making the job of parents today even harder with his ridiculous and absurd ramblings.

Is Malaysia Truly A Secular State?

We have heard so much from Karpal Singh and DAP leaders per say about Malaysia's "secular"ness. But can Karpal and DAP be trusted in their judgement?

I have noticed one thing that the word "secular" is NOT MENTIONED at all in our country's constitution. In other words, DAP and Karpal have been going to town by relying on "interpretations" of the constitution rather than anything else.
Even at that, there is no consensus in the interpretation of the constitution of Malaysia (on being secular or not). I, for one, have heard from Constitutional expert like Dr Aziz Bari, which argues otherwise. In fact, Dr Aziz Bari himself insisted that the Malaysian constitution is silent on it's ideology. In other words, the secular nature of the Malaysia Constitution is not decided 100%.

Yet DAP and Karpal goes to town by making such claim without considering other interpretation of the Constitution. I am very sure that Dr Aziz Bari is a bigger authority on the Malaysian Constitution as compared to Karpal SIngh himself.

Furthermore, the article on Malay Special Rights is mentioned explicitly in Article 153 of our constitution (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Malaysia#Article_153).

Yet, DAP seems to resist this article with all their might and power. One cannot help but wonder, what is the DAP real stand?

Is the DAP really sincere about upholding our constitution,? Or DAP (and Karpal Singh) real interest is really to eradicate Malays and Islam from the face of the Malaysian earth?

If the DAP was sincere about upholding the constitution, they will uphold everything in the constitution come what may. And that includes the Malay Special Rights Provision (Article 153) without question?

DAP and Karpal will need to sit down and reexamine their stand. They should be ashamed of their inconsistency and at least apologize to the Malaysian public for their double standard.

Secularism is not in the interest of the Malays and Muslims. Secularism is a dirty word among Muslims, not just in Malaysia but throughout the entire Muslim world. Largely because, Muslims around the world have realized that secularism was actually shoved down their throats by their secular elites, which their respective former colonial masters have trained them to do. In the case of Malaysia, it's UMNO.

After 50 years, Muslims around the world have realized that secularism have destroyed the Muslims and made Muslims go backwards.

But this topic will be dealt with in another article altogether.

Another great topic to dwell is the DAP's assumption that secularism is synonym to tolerance. I shall dedicate a whole topic on this subject.

For now, suffice to say DAP will have to deal with their double standard stand on the Malaysia Constitution issue. My personal belief is that the ideology of the Malaysian Constitution is Malay Supremacy and not Islam or secularism.

Life in "Taliban" Country Pt 1

I myself am now located in a city in Saudi Arabia. I've taken a few pictures for us to see the life in Riyadh.

The reason why I call Saudi Arabia as "Taliban" country, is because ALL of the then Taliban policies (i.e. gender segregation, women not allowed to come out except donned in black, closing of stores during prayers, women not allowed to work etc) came from Saudi Arabia.
We have heard so much of the term "Talibanization" being used by many people. Yet, in the country where Talibanism originates, international corporations are pouring in billions every year in investments, millions of people around the world comes to "Taleban"country to find work, international media are very quiet about the Taliban policies here as opposed to Afghanistan.

And, Talibanization is alive and well right under the noses of the world.

The picture below shows a "gender segregated" Mcdonalds. That's right, it's a picture of McDonalds at Faisal Tower, the most expensive mall in Riyadh. Men and Women are required to line-up in seperate lines each time they buy their Bic-Mac meals etc.

Pakatan Rakyat Must Not Be Distracted by "Battle of the Pirates"

Malaysiakini and all of the mainstream media is buzzing with stories of Dr. Mahathir leaving UMNO. It's clear that UMNO and Dr. Mahathir is desperate. Dr. Mahathir is desperate to remove Dolah Badawi to remain in office, Dolah is desperate to remain in power. And Barisan Nasional, post 2008 is desperate to remain relevant. Now, desperate people usually will resort to desperate measures. Allow me to explain:

a. UMNO: The desperate measures they are applying right now is by playing the Malay Rights and Supremacy issue again and again. These reports from Malaysiakini:

a.Khairy Planted NEP Question Causes A Stir(www.malaysiakini.com/news/82903)

b.Academics Discusses Social Contracts (www.malaysiakini.com/news/82907)

c.Live Bullets Sent to Karpal("www.malaysiakini.com/news/83156)

d. indicting Karpal Singh for alleged slander to the Sultan of Perak
and many more.

These series of actions by UMNO clearly indicates the desperate measures taken by UMNO in maintaining their Malay ground since UMNO only managed to hold on to power thanks to Malay votes. Fast eradication of the Malay ground will render UMNO useless and irrelevant.

b. PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi : He is clearly desperate to remain as PM and President of UMNO. He too is applying desperate measures. In my opinion, the entire "Judicial Reform" and "Linggam" videotape hearings was undertaken to villify chain Dr Mahathir and thus destroying Dr M credibilty to beyond repair. It's a fact that Dr. Mahathir is the only UMNO figure that is credible enough to move the UMNO masses towards removing Dollah Badawi from the PM position.

c. Dr. Mahathir: He's desperate too. His most recent action by quitting UMNO is a sign of desperation. There are two major factor pointing towards Dr. Mahathir's desperation. No 1, the Linggam Royal Commission report will eventually led to his indictment and most probably conviction. Dr. Mahathir might be sent to the same cell that Anwar Ibrahim was sent before. No 2, his desperate to remove Abdullah BAdawi for good before anything happened to him.

Pak Lah's decision to hold the UMNO election at the end of December is actually allowing him enough time to act on Dr Mahathir effectively. The intended scenarion for Pak Lah is to face the UMNO election with Dr. Mahathir eiter incarcerated or losing his credibility altogether making him uninfluential among UMNO members.

Therefore, his quitting UMNO is a last ditch desperate move to corner Pak Lah and probably force Pak Lah not to act on him legally.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO NOW

Pakatan Rakyat MUST NOT BE DISTRACTED by these recent events. PAkatan Rakyat's must be focused on one thing: the eradication of UMNO/BN. As long as UMNO and BN still controls the Central Government, they are still dangerous and they are still able to mount an effective counter attack. PLEASE REMEMBER, they still control:

a. SPR
b Police
c. Army
d. Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara
e. Media
f. Perbendaharaan Negara
g. The Malaysian Judiciary

In short, they still have machinery, money and media (flow of information). They are still able to Malaysian mass communicate to the majority of the public. They can still meddle and lie and cheat via a rigged election process. They can still rely on the courts to nullify results which they don't like. THey can still rely on the Police to cheat in the elections. They can still rely on the army to provide "Postal Votes" that can change a lot of the results. They can rely on Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara to provide them with the Pengundi Hantu.

The media they control can create a condition of distrust among the people against the Pakatan Rakyat.

WHAT I AM SUGGESTING: These are the few steps that I would recommend Pakatan Rakyat to do given the circumstances:

a. Pakatan Rakyat needs to connect with the people even more. They need to project themselves as a better option to the current Barisan Nasional

b. They need to show that they represent the interest of the Malays, Chinese and Indians and they can do a much better job then BArisan Nasional

c. They are more committed towards eradication of corruption and abuse of power

d. Pakatan Rakyat must be seen to be more committed towards eradicating draconian laws and measures which BN usually relies upon.

e. Pakatan Rakyat MUST AVOID touching on sensitive issues a. Malay Rights b. The status of Sultan c. The position of Islam d. NEP

Pakatan Rakyat must continue to expose Barisan Nasional corrupt practices. For instance, when it comes to Malay Rights, we must tell the Malays that so far, Malay Special rights are only enjoyed by "UMNO Putra" and not the majority of the Malays. The same with NEP.

In short, whether it's Malay Rights or NEP, it's actually a smoke screen to make certain individual rich or richer while leaving the majority of the Malays in the ditch.

Also, the Chinese also needs to be informed that Chinese businessmen are also party to NEP and MAlay Rights since they are the ones usually working with the UMNO elites for a piece of the NEP pie. The Majority of the Chinese on the other hand have to strive and suffer just to have a decent life.

In short, at the end of the day, it's always the small bt connected minority that benefits from all these programmes leaving most of us in the cold to suffer.

The UMNO, MIC or MCA (even Gerakan) reminds me of the movie "Pirates of the Carribean" in which each party is akin to each pirate ships that seems to be at odds with each other but can seem to work with each other when they have a common interest to pursue or a common threat to overcome.

Pakatan Rakyat must never be distracted by the "Battles of the Pirates". At the end of the day, no matter who wins, Dr. Mahathir, Pak Lah, Nihjar, Ong Ka Ting, Samy Vellu, they're still pirates.

The only option now is to replace these pirates with a clean and better government that cares for the people. Not a goverment that's bent on robbing the people.

Thank you.

Adakah Malaysia Sebuah Negara Sekular??????

Namun jika didalami, Perlembagaan Persekutuan sebenarnya memperuntukkan banyak fasal tentang agama Islam.

Apostasy, Greatest Jihad, Ong Ka Ting, Quran Alone and Apostasy

(This is a letter from me which is published by Raja Petra on his website, MalaysiaToday, can be read at www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/7028/1/)
A recent statement by MCA President, Dato Ong Ka Ting, in parliament (www.malaysiakini.com/news/82201) has reawaken the issue of apostasy in Islam. Among the “Muslims” who commented on the issue is a small minority who calls themselves “Quran Alone” (QA)
My article will try to show the emptiness of QA’s stand on the issue. But, to start off, let me explain why the term “Quran Muslim” is actually an oxymoron. Such explanation is important as to understand why the QA’s stand is weaker then jelly and has no credibility whatsoever. If one wants to get a rough idea as to what QA stands for, just go to www.peru.name.
Why is the term Quranic-Muslim (QM) an oxymoron? To start off with a Muslim is someone who believes in the Quran, the Hadeeth, Ijma and Qiyas. One who rejects hadeeth, Ijma and Qiyas is by definition NOT a Muslim.
Second, the QM (or actually Anti Hadeeth) accepts the Quran that we know today. However, the Quran we have today (known as Mushaf Uthmani) are arranged and ordered according to the Hadeeth of the Prophet SAW. In other words, the MUSHAF UTHMANI is the arrangement of the Quran according to the Hadeeth of the Prophet SAW.
Why do we say this? Simple, consider these questions below:
a. Where does it say in the Quran that Surah Al Baqarah must come after Al Fatihah?
b. Where does it say in the Quran that Surah An Nas (Qulauzubirabinnas) must be the last Surah (chapter) in the Quran?
c. Where does it say in the Quran that there are 30 “juz”(section)?
d. Where does it say in the Quran that “alhamdulillahirabilalamin(01:01)” must come before “Ar Rahman Ar Rahim(01:02)”?
e. Where does it say in the Quran that there must be 114 Surah (Chapters) in the Quran?
f. Where does it say in the Quran that “Qulhuwallahuahad (112:01) must come before “Allahusamad(112:02)?
The fact that Anti Hadeeth (aka QA) accepts the current arrangement of the Quran (aka Mushaf Uthmani) indicates the contradiction in their beliefs. Those who take their path are actually on the path of confusion and contradictions.
Hence turning the Quran-alone, Anti-Hadeeth, Quranic-Muslim etc, concept into an oxymoron. Those subscribing to Anti Hadeeth beliefs can be safely categorized as Morons.
I can also quote 1001 reasons why the QA sect is confused, deviated and arrogant (and I already have). But, just to allay the fears of some of you on the understanding of Al Hadeeth An Nabawi, I have written a short article at antiantihadeeth.blogspot.com/2007/08/clearing-some-misguided-understanding.html.
In fact, this one verse destroys the entire Quran Alone or Anti Hadeeth or any of the sort type of ideology. It's 16:44 as shown below:
APOSTASY IN ISLAM
The rules and regulations on apostasy in Islam is based on Al Quran, Al Hadeeth, AL Qiyas and Al Ijma (consensus of scholars).
Those who argue that apostasy is not illegal in Islam says that punishment for apostasy is not mentioned in the Quran. The QM/AH or Quran-Only sect goes a step further by misquoting and misinterpreting the Quran to support their argument.
For instance, in an article written by Farouk Peru, found at http://peru.name/?p=51, quotes, among others, the verse 10:100 from the Quran as the basis for allowing apostasy. In truth, the verse 10:100 has got nothing to do with apostasy as shown below:
010.100
YUSUFALI: No soul can believe, except by the will of Allah, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.
Anyone reading the verse can tell that the verse has nothing to do with allowing or disallowing apostasy.
Furthermore, if it is true that the Quran allows apostasy, why then does the Quran quotes the story of Jews being executed because of committing apostasy in 02:54?
002.054
YUSUFALI: And remember Moses said to his people: "O my people! Ye have indeed wronged yourselves by your worship of the calf: So turn (in repentance) to your Maker, and slay yourselves (the wrong-doers); that will be better for you in the sight of your Maker." Then He turned towards you (in forgiveness): For He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
It’s weird for the Quran to allow apostasy, yet quotes incidences of execution for those whom had committed apostasy. But, somehow and someway the Anti Hadeeth managed to do it. Maybe they are a bunch of magicians.
For further explanation on the laws of apostasy in Islam, feel free to refer to, among others, www.zaharudin.net, where explanation on the ruling is clear. He also addresses all the current understanding of the “nas” and what’s the best understanding for it. In short, when we refer to explanations from qualified people in Islam, we are not subjected to inconsistencies, confusions and contradictions. We save ourselves from being a (oxy)moron.

ONG KA TING STATEMENT
I do believe that Ong Ka Ting was justified in making the suggestion (http://www.malaysiakini.com/news/82201). It is a weakness on the Muslim part not to be able to guide new Muslims who converted to Islam via marriage. They simply made their spouse convert to Islam just for sake of marriage and then do not provide them with proper guidance and education on Islam.
However, I think compromising the laws itself is not the solution. There are numerous other steps that can be considered. Such as:
a. Religious authorities will have to ensure that all of the converts are aware of the apostasy laws. This is to ensure no one converting into Islam for the sake of marriage per say
b. Those intending to convert will have to be determined of their true intention of converting and not just for the sake of marriage alone
c. New converts will be tested and made to sign a declaration stating that they are fully aware of the apostasy laws in Islam
d. Families of the converts must be opened enough to accept their family member’s faith. They should not discriminate them just because they changed their religion.
There are other steps that we can think off. The above are just my suggestion. However, to flout with an existing system which is beyond doubt is not a solution and will result in more problems in the future.
THE GREATEST JIHAD
I referred to Raja Petra’s recent article entitled “The True Jihad” (http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/6808/84/). I chose to disagree with Raja on this issue because:
a. According to authentic hadeeth, i.e. Bukhari and Muslim, the greatest jihad is fighting against cruelty and oppression.
b. The jihad against one’s self (Jihadunafs) is not the truest and gratest of all Jihad. The hadeeth with regards to this issue is a “fabricated” hadeeth albeit it being popular.
c. It’s true that jihad is not limited to war, but war is one of the most important instrument of Jihad. That is why there are so many verses in the Quran specifically addressing the issue of warfare and the importance of fighting a war
d. Having said that, wars in Islam are fought specifically for the purpose of fighting oppression and upholding the truth. It’s never fought in the name of conquest or personal gains.
e. To deny the function of war in Islam is exactly what the sworn enemies of Islam wants us to do
In fact, what Raja Petra is doing right now, fighting corruption and cruelty, falls under the category of the greatest Jihaad.
