The mainstream media is all over the suggestion made by one of the delegates (and not the entire party) that Abdul Hadi is made as Prime Minister should Pakatan Rakyat makes it to Putrajaya.
Being a PAS insider, I've heard this suggestion since 2008. In fact it was the rallying call from the Pro-Unity/UMNO faction in PAS during those critical time.
In fact, if it wasn't for Tok Guru Nik Aziz's refusal, PAS would be a component party of Barisan Nasional by now.
The same people clamoring behind the Unity idea is now proposing PAS President as the PM candidate should Pakatan Rakyat takes over.
I believe this suggestion is made popular so that those resisting the unity with UMNO idea can be deemed as Pro Anwar and has their allegiance misplaced.
I believe this is an "attack" by the so call "conservative" faction within PAS who was the original proposer of the Unity with UMNO agenda.
Within PAS, the pro Pakatan Rakyat faction is now in an awkward situation. If they speak out against the idea they will be painted as someone with no allegiance to the party. In addition, they will be painted as the supporter of Anwar Ibrahim.
In truth, the ulama faction has lost all credibility to influence electoral agenda. The last time the ulama faction in PAS spearheaded electoral policies was in 2004. And everybody knows that 2004 result was a total disaster for PAS.
So, this is another one of their unrealistic ideas that is geared towards making PAS lose more votes like in 2004.
I really hope the PAS Central Leadership would not consider this idea seriously. After all, it is a bad idea considering DAP has already declared their support for Anwar Ibrahim. I doubt that PKR would swing their support to Hadi.
So, there is no way the PAS President can become Prime Minster without getting majority support from the other 2 parties in Pakatan Rakyat.
To me, this was just another dim witted suggestions made by people who have been living under a rock in the last 20 years.
TULANG BESI
i agree with you wholeheartedly. Hairan sungguh orang yang berilmu tidak cerdik dan tidak mampu berfikir.
ReplyDeleteHADI is a better candidate than ANWAR. This is for sure:
ReplyDelete1) HADI is seen as a true blue Muslim with no past historic rumours relating to sexual offences.
2) ANWAR came from UMNO roots, while, HADI doesnb't even have 0.001% of UMNO roots.
3) PAS is much stronger than PKR or DAP.
4) If the PM is NOT from PAS, then, Islam as the official religion in Malaysia would be in jeopardy.
Tak Payah kau nak berselindung lagi, memang kau pencacai Anwar...
ReplyDeleteHadi cannot become candidate because then DAP would want Lim Kit Siang to become Prime Minister.
ReplyDeleteIs that clear?
