"Negara Berkebajikan" Means "Caring State" and not "Welfare State"

The result of Malaysian education system under spearheaded by UMNO for the last 5 decades have produced language deficient journalists and reporters. I am sure if my uncle was still alive (the late Rustam Sani) he would have corrected this glaring mistake long ago.

The quality of language in our society has deteriorated very badly. So much so, this glaring mistake has gone uncorrected for too long.

You see, in Bahasa Malaysia, the phrase "Welfare State" is translated as "Negara Kebajikan". However, the real term used by PAS is "Negara Berkebajikan" which means a state that ensures the welfare of the people is taken care off. In short, a state that cares or "Caring State".

22 million people and no one has actually taken the effort to correct this glaring mistake. What is this country coming to?
